Waitress is a 2023 musical comedy-drama film based on the 2007 film of the same name, featuring a live stage recording of the Broadway musical. Directed by Diane Paulus, it stars Sara Bareilles, who also wrote the music, alongside Charity Angél Dawson, Caitlin Houlahan, and Drew Gehling.
The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 12, 2023, and was released in U.S. theaters on December 7, 2023. It received positive reviews for its performances and music, grossing approximately $6 million. The film will be available on digital platforms on January 9, 2024, and on Blu-ray on February 6, 2024.
