Parallel" is a 2024 American science fiction thriller film directed by Kourosh Ahari and written by Aldis Hodge, Edwin Hodge, and Jonathan Keasey. It stars Danielle Deadwyler as Vanessa, a grief-stricken woman who mysteriously finds herself navigating between parallel spaces.
The film follows Vanessa's journey as she searches for her lost son, Obie, across different parallel universes. She is assisted by Alex (Aldis Hodge) and Martel (Edwin Hodge), who help her navigate the fragmented versions of the world.
"Parallel" is a remake of the 2019 Chinese film "Parallel Forest" by Lei Zheng. Principal photography took place in Vancouver in 2022.
The film was released by Vertical Entertainment on February 23, 2024. While the plot can get complicated, the performances by Deadwyler and the Hodge brothers are praised for their emotional depth.
