Breakwater is a 2023 American thriller film written and directed by James Rowe. The film stars Dermot Mulroney, Darren Mann, Mena Suvari, Alyssa Goss, Sonja Sohn, and Celia Rose Gooding.
The story follows Dovey (Mann), a young ex-convict who breaks his parole to track down the estranged daughter of his former prison mentor Ray Childress (Mulroney), at Ray's request. However, Dovey soon discovers that the daughter's past is more dangerous than anything he faced in prison.
Breakwater premiered at the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival on August 19, 2023 and was later acquired for North American distribution by Vertical Entertainment. The film has received generally positive reviews, with praise for its cinematography, acting, and dark humor.
