Father's Day is a 1997 American comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman, starring Robin Williams and Billy Crystal as two men who are asked by a woman (Nastassja Kinski) to help find her runaway son, Scott (Charlie Hofheimer). The catch is that the woman had slept with both men 17 years ago, and she doesn't know which one is the boy's father.
The film is a remake of the 1983 French comedy film Les Compères. It follows the two men, Dale (Williams) and Jack (Crystal), as they reluctantly team up to search for Scott, each secretly believing he is the father. Their misadventures take them from San Francisco to Sacramento and Reno.
Despite the comedic pairing of Williams and Crystal, the film was poorly received, with critics finding it maudlin and unfunny[3]. Roger Ebert called it "a brainless feature-length sitcom with too much sit and no com"[4]. The film was a box office bomb, grossing only $28.7 million against a budget of $35 million.
